5 Months and growing

I was 5 months yesterday, Aug 18th!!! YAY over half way and counting down. Things have been going great. Nothing really to complain about, but that's not to say there aren't those typical uncomfortable things. I am just so happy to have a cute wiggly baby in my belly. The 2nd trimester is always great because I feel energized and motivated to get organized and ready for things. So We've been working on the baby room and other parts of the house which is nice to get done. My next post will be the baby room. It is pretty  much the same as we had it in Bountiful.
Two pictures taken yesterday. It was a little hard to see the bump in the dress so I changed. I love that I am pretty much coming out of the awkward stage where people don't know if you just have gained weight or are pregnant. People are daring to ask if I'm pregnant, which is fine because I am! Ha ha!
I must be carrying this baby differently because I am much smaller than I was last time with Calvin. If you compare pictures from his pregnancy I was this big at 4 months, but baby is still measuring right on schedule so he must be really deep inside of me or something.

As many people keep asking, we are still working on names. We'll let you know when we decide or when we get close. Right now our list has many names that I would never use but Spencer likes them so i'm willing to consider them, for a bit:)

Another Fun Weekend Camping

Marshall Lake!

Pretty sunset that just kept getting better and better.

Popping some popcorn over the fire. Funny side note: I was trying to take a picture of Spencer holding the popcorn so I kept leaning further and further back to get him in the picture. Little did I know that he didn't want to be in it, just his thumb, so he was leaning back and closing his eyes because the flash was bright. So it took me a moment to realize this, then as we sat there looking back at the pictures I had just taken, we both started to bust up laughing at the one with his eyes closed.

Ha ha he is such a funny guy!

The next day we enjoyed some yummy breakfast, then headed out to explore the area. A lot of these areas around Flagstaff have lots of places to hike and many trails, but they aren't marked very well or they aren't used anymore so they can be crazy if you follow them. We decided to go on one of those trails and even though it never really took us anywhere it still was fun.

Ok another little side note: At night we were laying there going to bed and we can hear something strange like an animal call or something. It kept getting closer and louder. At first I thought it was the people next to us being goofy and teasing us or something but then we realized it was real, and probably elk or something. It sounded like they were coming down behind us to go out to the lake area. When we got home the next day we looked up elk sounds and it for sure was them. So look up the sound of elk noises so you can hear how crazy it is.
This is the lake that is all dried up. It really was a pretty meadow.

Looking out at the Twin Peaks!

I guess the lake wasn't totally dried up, but pretty close.

We found this little snake just by the lake. Kind of gives me the heebie jeebies if you ask me.
But then again it wasn't very big.

We were on our hike and some thunder clouds were headed our way so we decided to head back. We were about 5 minutes away from our camp when the rain started, but just a little bit. We tried to hurry cause our rain cover for our tent was off so that during the night we could look at the amazing stars. So we got back, threw that on and sat down to eat our lunch because the rain was starting to let up a bit. Then it just started to pour so we grabbed our food and made a dash for the tent. It was so fun hearing the rain and enjoying the fun beauty.

Then on our way back home we stopped to see Lake Mary which is really close to our church. Kind of just a muddy lake but still fun. There were lots of pretty yellow flowers around the lake which made it really pretty.

We found out what we are having!!!

This view is looking down on the head to look at the brain. I like it because if you look closely you can see his cute fingers by his head. He was sleeping during the ultrasound!

This is a profile picture with his cute had up by his head! So so cute!!!

We are so excited for another cute boy!!
WE LOVE YOU BABY BOY!!!!

Weekend of Camping

Last weekend Spencer and I took off to go camping here in Flagstaff. We left right after work on Friday and got back Saturday night.
It really was so fun to just hang out, see the pretty storm going over, eating tin foil dinners, hiking, and playing croquet.
The whole month of July we have gotten a pretty good rain storm each day where it just down pours. We have loved it and so have the plants. As we were driving around trying to find a spot, the clouds kept getting darker and closer. So we decided to wait to set up the tent but we did start the fire for our tinfoil dinners.

These pictures barely show how cool and dark the clouds were. Lots of thunder all around us, but far away.

The fire kept going so we were able to cook our tinfoil dinners. It did sprinkle for a bit but not bad at all. We thought it was going to pour like it always does at our house, and we were only 20 minutes away from our house.

Spencer was playing around with the camera and had fun taking pictures like this one.

The next day was perfect weather. No rainy clouds until we got home, then it poured and poured. We enjoyed going on a hike during the day just out of our campsite. It was more of a good walk then a hike, but my pregnant body still needed a break here and there.

After the hike, we hung out at our campsite, played croquet, read our books, and then had brats for dinner. I love that it was so close to town yet so peaceful and relaxing.

Baby Room... in Flagstaff

So we had the baby room all ready and put together, ready for Calvin to come when we were in Utah. But since we moved down here we needed to do it all over again. I figured we would just do the same thing down here for when the next baby comes because I liked how it turned out in Bountiful.

If that was going to happen, then painting was going to need to be done. The room down here chosen to be the baby room was painted tan on all walls and ceiling. I like tan, but the walls were so dirty, painted poorly and the painted ceiling made it feel so short and small. Plus the wood trim...do I need to explain?

So Spencer got busy last weekend painting the trim and inside of the closet. Then he moved onto the ceiling to change it to white. Finally, he finished painting the baby room walls on Tuesday!

The inside of the closet was white, but really scuffed up and dirty.

NEW Painted room!

The new paint even makes the carpet not look too bad!

So we did do a different color on the walls then we did in Bountiful. I love gray and could paint the whole house gray but I don't think that would be a good idea. So we tried a gray with a bit of taupe. It turned out a little lighter than I was hoping but it still looks good and clean!

Nice white clean closet!

Now we just need to put the furniture back in, put together the crib, hang things on the walls, and put up curtains. Spencer is such a hard worker and loves to just get things done. It really is so nice!
