Hiking Walnut Canyon

Walnut Canyon is so close to us, and yet it has taken us a year to make it here since moving down to Flagstaff. It is a simple hike but really fun.

You hike down some stairs to get into the canyon then you hike around a little "island" in the middle of the canyon with lots of Indian ruins built into the cliff.

It goes like this all the way around the island.
Inside most of the rooms there is black on the walls or ceilings from the fires they had inside.

3 Months...pretty late

Well this little boy has turned 3 months old, like 3 weeks ago!!!

This last month a lot has changed with this little boy. Of course, he is still very smiley. We have started to get him to giggle a little bit. He is ticklish in his armpits. He loves when we sing to him. His chunky legs keep growing. Bath time is very wet now for us all since he has learned to splash. He is talking more. He rolls over from his belly to his back a lot now and holds his head up high when on his tummy.

Ha ha we love this pose. He does it sometimes when we are taking pictures and it just looks so cute with his arms straight down. Such a funny little boy.
I love this picture because one noticeable change in him this month is his chunky legs!!
Look at this picture at 3 months and then the one below at his one month. He sure has changed a lot!

The Move

Finlee has officially moved down to his own bedroom. We decided it was time because he was on a 9 hour stretch between feedings so the need to have him close to feed often was gone. I didn't really want to make the change or I wanted to ease slowly into it, but Spencer said lets just try it. I had been putting him to sleep for his naps in his room and he was doing great, but still. So one night we tried it and he did great. I still say quite a few prayers at night that he will be safe down there all by himself (our master bedroom is upstairs) but I think its more to help calm my nerves.
He looked so cute sleeping in that big bed, I had to take some pictures.

For you paranoid mamas out there, I took out the bumper pads. They are really thin, but just to be safe I took them out because Finlee tends to shift 90 degrees in his sleep and i'd hate for him to get his face close  up to it.

It's sad to have him away from us, but so fun to finally get to use his room.

February 16- Finlee's Blessing

Finlee was blessing on February 16, 2014 and it was such a special day.
Spencer did an amazing job with the blessing and during the blessing I felt so strongly that we have a special little guy on our hands who we really need to take good care of and teach him well. We are so lucky to be his parents and we love him so much.
This cute little outfit was the same outfit Spencer wore for his blessing over 27 years ago.

Thank you to our parents for coming down to enjoy this special day with us. We love you!

Hiking around Sunset Crater and Wapatki National Monument

While our parents were in town for Finlee's blessing, we decided to do some hiking. Sunset Crater and Wapatki National monument are so close to us yet we have never checked them out.
At Sunset Crater, there was lava rock everywhere which was kinda cool.

Then Wapatki had a lot of Indian ruins which were really neat.

A natural blow hole that Spencer made me stand over to show what it did. Ha ha!
